Andromeda 2020 In-Ear Monitors By Campfire Audio
A new chapter for a beloved reference, the Andromeda 2020 features an all-new Solid-Body acoustic design. Superbly refined musical presentation.
Andromeda 2020 is an exciting new chapter for one of Campfire’s most beloved earphones. Updating an earphone as a beloved as Andromeda is not a task to take lightly. But give it a listen, and you’ll be glad you did. The new Solid-Body design, first explored in the custom fit products, is now enhancing the new Universal Fit line. This approach brings a new level of control to acoustic design. You’ll enjoy a refined musical presentation, with clarity and resolution that can’t be missed.
While looking very much like previous versions of Andromeda, maintaining its classic angular silhouette and emerald-green finish, Andromeda 2020 is very different on the inside. A single printed body now houses all of Andromeda 2020’s internal components. The interior and exterior spaces and the relationships between them are precisely sculpted to improved sonic performance. And the bonus of having the engineering doing the heavy lifting is fewer moving parts, and fewer moving parts also means more reliable reference performance for the life of the earphone.
A new spout design keeps its distinctive short collar but adds our signature grill pattern to keep your earphone debris free. Zirconium blasted aluminum shells are finished in classic emerald green anodizing, specially made for Andromeda.

Which Campfire Model for Me?
When choosing a Campfire model there are a few important considerations…
- The first is which model(s) fit within your budget.
- The second is whether your amplifier/device has better synergy with a Dynamic Driver, Balanced Armatures, or a combination of the two.
- The third is which kind of sonic characteristics you prefer.
Dynamic Driver vs. Balanced Armature
An IEM Dynamic Driver is like a miniature version of the drivers in your stereo speakers, where electromagnetic impulses move the driver membrane forward and backward. Dynamic Driver sound is rounder, with more groove and body, and is best paired with an amp and music with adequate detail and articulation.
A Balanced Armature is an even smaller assembly, where electromagnetic impulses vibrate tiny rods and those vibrations travel through a membrane. Balanced Armature sound is more finely-detailed, dynamic, fast, and has greater extension, but is also less forgiving and is best paired with an amp and music with adequate warmth and body.

“The Campfire Audio Andromeda 2020 is an excellent refinement of an already fantastic earphone. I think the changes to the cable, internals, and nozzle are all welcome additions, and it’s a nice touch of them to upgrade the case and packaging to keep things fresh. They are undoubtedly expensive, but the finish and sound are up there with the best, and these will undoubtedly be worthy of end game status for a lot of people.”
“Adopting a more neutral presentation – superior detail retrieval, more obvious linearity – is the Andromeda, which this month enjoys a 2020 update for a treble response that enjoys a halo of warmth, a fleshier midrange and beefed-up bottom end.”
