85% Silver/15% Gold Nano Contact Enhancer By Nanotec Systems

The Nanotec Contact Enhancer liquid is a formulation of nano-sized Silver and Gold particles, suspended in oil. Use the liquid to paint certain electrical connections in your system to reduce resistance and improve the performance of current flow at these points. Most contact enhancers use a 50/50 ratio, which we find slightly dulls the sound, whereas 100% silver can be a bit strident. We asked Nanotec to prepare a custom 85% Silver / 15% Gold mix, which was what they recommended as a good balance to slightly take the edge off the silver while maintaining its nuance and detail.

Applying this liquid between two metal surfaces reduces what’s known as micro-arcing…microscopic arcing of electrical current between metal contacts. Less resistance in current transmission results in a sound with faster high-frequency transients, more immediacy and palpability, and increased harmonics and nuance.

• Before applying the enhancer it’s recommended to clean the metal surface with a contact cleaner, such as DeOxIt (you can also use this type of cleaner to remove the contact enhancer).
• Use the liquid on speaker/amp terminals, fuse ends, tube pins, power cables, etc. Do not use on interconnects, phono jacks or other types of connectors where there’s any possibility to bridge the contacts with the metals in the liquid (just give us a call if you’re not sure.
• Use a very small amount. Just a tiny dot is enough for an application. One small bottle will probably last the average user about 5 years.
• There is a burn-in time. Run current through the connection for about 10-20hrs, during which time the sound will be relatively constricted.
