The R 300 from T+A is a compact two-way bookshelf speaker that delivers reference-level sound quality typically expected from much larger loudspeakers. Its precision-engineered cabinet is constructed entirely from hand-brushed aluminum, available in high-gloss black or silver, giving it both durability and a premium aesthetic.
Despite its modest dimensions—21 cm wide by 37 cm tall (8.3″ x 14.5″)—the R 300 produces impressively full and detailed sound, thanks to its carefully designed cabinet and cutting-edge driver technology. The high-end drivers are derived from the larger T+A S 300 model, with the bass driver specifically optimized for the smaller enclosure.
The result is phenomenal bass performance down to 35 Hz, delivering deep, natural, and precise low frequencies that are rarely achievable in speakers of this size. The R 300 offers a perfect combination of compact design and high-fidelity sound, making it ideal for refined listening spaces where quality cannot be compromised.
Drive Unit Technology
T+A’s felt it was particularly important to combine the advantages of the two-way principle – namely very spacious, natural reproduction – with outstanding bass response. Bass response lets down the majority of small bookshelf speakers, so for this reason, T+A invested tremendous effort in ensuring that the bass reproduction of the R 300 is totally convincing. The cabinet is made entirely of aluminum and therefore has a relatively large net internal volume. The High-End drive units are based on the technology developed for the speaker’s big sister – the S 300 – but with optimized bass driver parameters to match the two-way design and the small cabinet. The refined High-End bass unit is fitted with high-performance magnet systems, while the triple cone surround enables extremely long cone travel. The embossed and stiffened cones generate an incredibly deep, high-pressure bass even at very high levels.
Advanced Drive Unit Technology
The R 300 from T+A combines the spacious, natural sound of a two-way design with exceptional bass performance, an area where many small bookshelf speakers fall short. Its aluminum cabinet provides a surprisingly large internal volume, enhancing low-frequency reproduction while maintaining a compact footprint.
The speaker’s high-end drivers are derived from the larger T+A S 300, with the bass driver specifically optimized for the R 300’s two-way design and compact enclosure. The bass unit features high-performance magnet systems and a triple-cone surround, allowing for extended cone travel and precise control.
Reinforced, embossed cones produce deep, powerful, and high-pressure bass even at high playback levels, delivering a level of low-frequency detail and impact rarely achieved in speakers of this size. The result is a full-bodied, dynamic sound that fills a room without compromising the clarity and openness expected from a high-end two-way bookshelf monitor.
LS 300 Speaker Stands
The LS 300 speaker stand from T+A is specifically designed to complement the R 300 bookshelf speaker, providing a secure and stable platform for free-standing placement. The R 300 can be safely screwed onto the stand, ensuring stability while maintaining an elegant presentation.
Cable management is simplified with the profiled tube design, allowing loudspeaker cables to be neatly routed through the stand. Adjustable screw-in spikes or furniture glides create enough clearance under the base for easy cable placement while maintaining optimal stability.
Measuring 67 x 26 x 33 cm (HxWxD), the LS 300 is the perfect companion for the R 300, enhancing both sound performance and aesthetic appeal when placed away from walls or furniture.

Note: We have one new EAR HP4 Tube Headphone Amp in stock as of November 2022. EAR makes only one headphone amp model and the HP4 is one of the best in the world. These units take up to 120 days to deliver but we have this one ready to ship immediately from the USA; please call to make sure it’s still available.
Jaguar is proud to offer EAR electronics, known for crafting some of the most musical and refined tube gear available. While many high-end tube amplifier brands exist, often priced far higher than EAR, we focus on amplifiers like EAR and Lamm — products from visionary designers that stand apart as truly unique and exceptional.
The EAR HP4 Headphone Amplifier is regarded as one of the finest in its class. Using four 6SL7 valves matched to a high-quality load through precision transformers, it delivers nearly 1 watt of clean, low-distortion power into both high and low-impedance headphones. The Enhanced Triode Mode circuit, inspired by the acclaimed V20 and 859 integrated amplifiers, ensures stunning audio performance, while the input stage is transformer-coupled for the flexibility to accept both balanced and unbalanced signals from your preamplifier.
Designed for ease of use, the HP4 features an integrated volume control, allowing for direct headphone or loudspeaker listening. Input signals can be independently switched, offering versatility in your audio setup. Built for durability, EAR’s HP4 is engineered to last with an expected valve life of over 10,000 hours.
With the ability to connect up to four pairs of headphones, the HP4 offers Low/High Impedance and Balanced/Single-Ended operation options, ensuring compatibility with virtually any headphone in your collection.
About EAR
EAR (Esoteric Audio Research), founded by legendary designer Tim de Paravicini, has been synonymous with high-fidelity audio since the 1970s. Renowned for his innovative designs, de Paravicini’s techniques have not only shaped EAR products, but also influenced some of the world’s most respected audio manufacturers. Many of his creations are still highly coveted by audiophiles, with their enduring appeal and unmatched performance.
Beyond consumer audio, Tim de Paravicini has made groundbreaking contributions to professional recording and mastering. His tape systems, microphones, and recording technology have been trusted by iconic artists like Pink Floyd and Lenny Kravitz, as well as prestigious labels such as Altarus and Water Lily Acoustics. Engineers like Robert Ludwig, Joe Gastwirt, and James Guthrie have relied on his designs, and The Exchange, one of the world’s top mastering facilities, uses EAR-designed equipment throughout its entire playback chain. Even Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs uses his LP cutting system and tape playback electronics.
EAR amplifiers are renowned for their ability to reproduce sound with unrivaled purity, free from the colorations and distortions that affect most amplifiers. Tim de Paravicini’s pioneering research into ultrasonic resonances and distortion has revolutionized amplifier design, allowing for a deeper understanding of how technical measurements relate to sonic quality. The result is clear: EAR amplifiers are some of the most accurate and musically engaging amplifiers ever made, providing an unmatched listening experience.
