Product Description
Voce means "Voice" in Italian. This is a pair of the legendary speakers from Voce Audio. The Voce Duos were designed by Vince Solbes, a former San Francisco Opera tenor. Technical design for these speakers was done by engineers at MSB Technology headquarters, in the Bay Area, so that gives you some idea of the caliber of performance we’re talking with these speakers.
Many audiophiles heard the Voce Trius model at RMAF and CES, which was the company’s $65K flagship model. The Duos was their smaller and bigger bang-for-the-buck model, produced later. However, a slow time for the audio industry and numerous challenges that come with starting a new high-end speaker company forced Voce to quit business in 2016. Less than 20 pairs of the Duos were produced. It should be noted that the stock drivers and crossover components remain readily available on the market.
This pair has been well cared for and is in like-new condition. They were used in the Jaguar listening space for about 2 years since 2015 and in storage. The body is constructed from phenolic (a machinable, low-resonance resin, commonly used in very high-end speakers like Wilson Audio) and the finish is high-gloss Metallic Black Ferrari paint.
As you’d expect from the ears of a professional opera singer, the magic of Voce speakers is in interpreting voices in the most realistic and hypnotic manner we’ve encountered. When paired with our Lamm LP2.1 phono preamp, Luciano Pavarotti’s voice soared. The Duos’ ported cabinet design is extremely versatile and has enough low bass to play hard rock well enough that you won’t need a subwoofer.
