The MkII and MkIII models offer successive levels of refinement, making them compatible with even the most demanding high-end setups. Simply plug the MkIII RCA/XLR Tuning Stick into any open jack on your preamp, power amplifier, or DAC. While some users incorporate multiple Sticks throughout their system, it’s best to start with a single Stick and test each component to find the placement that delivers the most noticeable improvement in detail, resolution, and musical flow.
Tips & Instructions
- Try the RCA Stick on each of your components, such as your Preamp, Phono Preamp, DAC, and listen for the most effective position. Most components use the same ground plane for all jacks, so any jack should do.
- AC and RCA/XLR models can also be strapped to a power cable for further experimentation.
- Use the Universal model on your speaker cables, usually at the speaker end. Also, try them on your mains cable into your power conditioner.

“By merely plugging in the 100-odd grams of AC tuning shtick, the virtual soundstage widened, individual instruments moved further apart and Burke pushed his singing chair forward. When we unplugged the darn stick, the stage shrunk back to its initial size between the horns. Did we hear this correctly? Was this stuff really that powerful?”
“Scary? Almost. With the enhanced dimensions of the music we now also noticed tiny ticks and clicks from the vinyl’s surface giving away that this was still a reproduction. Before the universal sticks were mounted, these ticks and clicks had been inaudible.”

“I was impressed by two things from the Puritan. The decrease in the amount of noise allowed me to hear more information, enhancing all frequencies over the soundstage. The improvement in clarity and focus also helped the music to flow and eradicated harmful frequencies that sometimes demanded hands over the ears. More than that, though, while noise was reduced, the dynamics were never reduced. Hence, the music retained its life and vigour. I never thought that the ‘treated’ music ever sounded dull which is a great tribute to the design. The Puritan PSM156 is an ideal method to treat mains noise and distortive elements, letting you hear more music which is, after all, the point of hi-fi.”
