Product Description

The Reuss is a high-end digital-to-analog converter designed to deliver outstanding audio performance. It offers a versatile selection of inputs, including one USB, one RCA, one Toslink, and one AES input. The USB input is built on advanced Amanero technology, featuring two precise oscillators that ensure a low-jitter music signal, which is then galvanically isolated through capacitive isolator components. The other inputs are also safeguarded with galvanic isolation and de-jittering using high-quality transformers and capacitors, protecting the signal from external interference.

For digital-to-analog conversion, the Reuss employs two highly regarded 1794A converter modules from Burr Brown. Each channel is assigned its own dedicated module, providing a 5 dB improvement in dynamic range. The analog current signal is expertly converted into a voltage signal through a discrete setup, buffered in Class A technology, and delivered to the output. With its fully balanced design, the Reuss operates with four independent channels from the converter modules to the output, ensuring exceptional clarity and fidelity.

The Reuss features an advanced power supply system, with twelve individual power supplies dedicated to each functional unit. Each pair of output channels is powered by an independent linear supply with an oversized transformer, delivering clean and stable power for optimal performance.

Every component and circuit layout has been meticulously tested in extensive listening sessions by experienced audio professionals. Special attention has been given to the selection of capacitors, voltage regulators, converter components, transistors, resistors, signal processing, I/V converters, and output stages to achieve the highest level of sound quality.

Crafted with remarkable precision, the Reuss is manufactured in Switzerland. From the housing, front panel, and control knobs to the component placement, assembly, and final inspection, every detail reflects exceptional Swiss quality and craftsmanship.

The Ear
“The Merason Reuss proved to be a highly engaging and revealing DAC with a variety of sources and loudspeakers in my system, it consistently made my digital files sound fresh and vivid in a fashion that is indeed more consistent with analogue sources than many of the alternatives. The price for this is limited format conversion capability but the formats that it does process so well are the ones that really matter, PCM at up to 192kHz covers 99.9999% of all original digital releases, probably more. Not for DSD purists then but a very appealing option for anyone that wants to hear the message in the music; the Reuss delivers regardless of what that message might be and draws you into the music without seeming to try.”
