The BAD Acoustic Panel is designed to deliver effective acoustic control while maintaining the natural character and ambience of a room. Its construction combines advanced absorption with controlled sound scattering, helping create a balanced listening environment.

The panel features a rigid template with an optimized binary pattern of perforations positioned over a sound-absorbing core. This carefully engineered design helps achieve consistent sound absorption across the Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) frequency bands, while gradually reducing absorption above approximately 1000 Hz to preserve the liveliness of the space.

This hybrid acoustic approach helps prevent excessive high-frequency absorption, which can sometimes make a room sound overly damped. At very high frequencies, the surface begins to act as a scattering element, contributing to a more natural and spacious sound field.

The perforation pattern also helps minimize lobing effects commonly associated with traditional perforated panels, while improving midrange and low-frequency absorption. As a result, the BAD Panel can be a practical solution for enhancing acoustic balance in environments such as listening rooms, recording studios, home theaters, and other sound-sensitive spaces.

Installation

The BADTM Panels can be quickly and easily hung on any wall surface using RPG’s ImpalitTM clip. For ceiling applications, the panels can be either direct mounted with Z-bar attachments or suspended using a cloud anchor kit. Panels can also be configured to be installed in the standard 15/16? HD T- grid supplied by others.
