Stillpoints ESS racks offer an elegant and effective solution for housing your precious audio gear. The ESS Rack is based on an unobtrusive, open, and flexible architecture that allows your audio gear to reach its full potential without the constraints of a massive or bulky rack. The result is dramatically improved dynamics and interstitial detail.
Built to your specification
Configure the Stillpoints ESS Rack to optimize the space needed, and the performance of each component. Each rack requires two masts, two cross bars, shelves consisting of pairs of support bars, and the shelves can be outfitted with your choice of acrylic platforms, X Grids, or Rail Grids.
Masts
The foundation of each rack is a pair of masts of your chosen height. Masts are tube assemblies with cabling spanning the arms and legs. The height measurement is taken from the floor to the top of the arm, and rounded to the nearest inch.
Cross Bars
Two Cross Bars are required to connect the right and left masts to form a frame. The width specified with each set of cross bars is the maximum space that a component will fit.
Support Bars
Support Bars are pairs of bars fastened to the front and rear mast cables. A pair of support bars form the foundation for one shelf level. The bars contain isolation technology pockets, designed to work with acrylic shelves, or X Grids. Rail Grids can be used between the isolation. The addition of Acrylic shelves, X Grids, or Rail Grids will accommodate the Ultra of your choice to complete the shelf assembly.
Acrylic Shelf
Components can be placed directly on Acrylic Shelves in dimensions of 16×26″ and 16×20″ (and double 20″ on a 40″ ESS Rack). The shelves come standard with a Set Screw Kit allowing for an efficient installation on the isolation pockets.
X Grid
The X Grid can also be fitted on the isolation pockets. These grids offer thread fittings that allow the user to fasten isolation footers at multiple positions along the Grid.
Rail Grid
The Rail Grids mount across the front and rear support bars and slide to the desired position. Channels in the top of each rail hold T-nuts that can attach a Stillpoints isolation footer and be moved forward or back as needed. The Rail Grid adds greater rigidity than the standard X Grid, supports heavier components more effectively, and allows greater flexibility for Ultra footer placement specific to each component while taking full advantage of the suspended isolation that is the hallmark of the ESS Equipment Rack.

The Absolute Sound
“The ESS rack profoundly improved the performance of my audio system, allowing it to further resolve the very fine micro-details that enhance a sense of musical verisimilitude. The improved resolution and clarity were so palpable that at times I found myself listening at lower volume levels with total satisfaction. For anyone intent on obtaining a more suave and supple, refined and precise sound, Stillpoints delivers the goods.”

Note: We have one new EAR HP4 Tube Headphone Amp in stock as of November 2022. EAR makes only one headphone amp model and the HP4 is one of the best in the world. These units take up to 120 days to deliver but we have this one ready to ship immediately from the USA; please call to make sure it’s still available.
Jaguar is proud to offer EAR electronics, known for crafting some of the most musical and refined tube gear available. While many high-end tube amplifier brands exist, often priced far higher than EAR, we focus on amplifiers like EAR and Lamm — products from visionary designers that stand apart as truly unique and exceptional.
The EAR HP4 Headphone Amplifier is regarded as one of the finest in its class. Using four 6SL7 valves matched to a high-quality load through precision transformers, it delivers nearly 1 watt of clean, low-distortion power into both high and low-impedance headphones. The Enhanced Triode Mode circuit, inspired by the acclaimed V20 and 859 integrated amplifiers, ensures stunning audio performance, while the input stage is transformer-coupled for the flexibility to accept both balanced and unbalanced signals from your preamplifier.
Designed for ease of use, the HP4 features an integrated volume control, allowing for direct headphone or loudspeaker listening. Input signals can be independently switched, offering versatility in your audio setup. Built for durability, EAR’s HP4 is engineered to last with an expected valve life of over 10,000 hours.
With the ability to connect up to four pairs of headphones, the HP4 offers Low/High Impedance and Balanced/Single-Ended operation options, ensuring compatibility with virtually any headphone in your collection.
About EAR
EAR (Esoteric Audio Research), founded by legendary designer Tim de Paravicini, has been synonymous with high-fidelity audio since the 1970s. Renowned for his innovative designs, de Paravicini’s techniques have not only shaped EAR products, but also influenced some of the world’s most respected audio manufacturers. Many of his creations are still highly coveted by audiophiles, with their enduring appeal and unmatched performance.
Beyond consumer audio, Tim de Paravicini has made groundbreaking contributions to professional recording and mastering. His tape systems, microphones, and recording technology have been trusted by iconic artists like Pink Floyd and Lenny Kravitz, as well as prestigious labels such as Altarus and Water Lily Acoustics. Engineers like Robert Ludwig, Joe Gastwirt, and James Guthrie have relied on his designs, and The Exchange, one of the world’s top mastering facilities, uses EAR-designed equipment throughout its entire playback chain. Even Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs uses his LP cutting system and tape playback electronics.
EAR amplifiers are renowned for their ability to reproduce sound with unrivaled purity, free from the colorations and distortions that affect most amplifiers. Tim de Paravicini’s pioneering research into ultrasonic resonances and distortion has revolutionized amplifier design, allowing for a deeper understanding of how technical measurements relate to sonic quality. The result is clear: EAR amplifiers are some of the most accurate and musically engaging amplifiers ever made, providing an unmatched listening experience.
