Furutech’s NCF (Nano Crystal² Formula) represents an advanced metallurgy approach that incorporates nano-sized crystalline particles into critical components. Designed to address resonance and electrical noise at a fundamental level, NCF technology reflects Furutech’s commitment to optimizing every stage of AC and signal transfer.
The Furutech GTX-D NCF exemplifies this philosophy. Because the quality of incoming AC power directly influences overall system performance, the final connection point—the receptacle—plays a crucial role in achieving maximum sonic potential.
While pure copper is ideal for conductivity, its softness makes it impractical for durable receptacle construction. To overcome this, Furutech developed an industry-first solution: specially treated Alpha pure copper conductors, plated with 24k gold and rhodium, reinforced by a nonmagnetic stainless steel conductor spring system. This innovative design maintains firm, stable contact without damaging connector blades or plated surfaces. Even the curved pressure plates are engineered to maximize surface contact and current transfer.
The result is a receptacle known for exceptional build quality, secure grip, and refined performance—delivering greater clarity, dynamic expression, and a deeper connection to music.

About EAR
EAR (formerly Esoteric Audio Research) represents the vision of legendary designer Tim de Paravicini, whose work has defined high-fidelity audio since the 1970s. His innovative designs have not only shaped EAR products but have also influenced some of the world’s most respected audio manufacturers. Many of his creations continue to be prized by audiophiles for their lasting performance, musicality, and attention to detail.
Beyond the consumer audio world, Tim de Paravicini made significant contributions to professional recording and mastering. His tape machines, microphones, and electronics have been used by artists such as Pink Floyd and Lenny Kravitz, as well as by acclaimed labels like Altarus and Water Lily Acoustics. Renowned engineers including Robert Ludwig, Joe Gastwirt, and James Guthrie have relied on his designs. One of London’s top mastering facilities, The Exchange, uses EAR-designed systems for its entire playback chain, while Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs employs his LP cutting and tape playback electronics.
EAR amplifiers are celebrated for delivering exceptionally pure, uncolored sound. They reproduce recordings with remarkable fidelity, free from the distortions and colorations common in most amplifiers. De Paravicini’s research into ultrasonic resonances, transient response, and the subjective effects of distortion has bridged the gap between technical measurements and real-world listening. The result is a range of amplifiers widely regarded as some of the most accurate and musical ever created, offering a listening experience that is both transparent and deeply engaging.
