By dedicating an entire amplifier to each speaker, the M 200 allows music to be reproduced with greater clarity, separation, and authority than is typically possible with conventional stereo power amplifiers. The design also draws inspiration from the highly regarded A 200 stereo power amplifier, incorporating many of its technologies while delivering even greater performance in a mono configuration.
Prominent heat sinks serve both a functional and visual purpose. They effectively dissipate heat during demanding playback while also highlighting the amplifier’s impressive power capabilities. The M 200 can be integrated into an existing high-end system or paired with other Series 200 components to form a cohesive, high-performance audio setup.
At its core, the amplifier uses an advanced circuit topology that combines T+A’s HV circuit technology, high-frequency sine-wave power supply design, and PURIFI Eigentakt™ amplification modules. This combination is intended to deliver a balance of efficiency, precision, and exceptional sound quality. Because the M 200 focuses entirely on powering a single loudspeaker, it can fully dedicate its performance capabilities to that channel. For system matching flexibility, the damping factor can also be adjusted to achieve a warmer or softer sonic presentation when used with certain loudspeakers.
HV Circuit Topology
The amplifier’s voltage stage uses T+A’s HV circuit technology, designed to operate at higher internal voltages for extremely linear signal reproduction. This approach helps deliver natural dynamics and accurate musical imaging while reducing the need for heavy negative feedback, which can sometimes introduce unwanted artifacts.
Output Stage
The M 200 utilizes PURIFI Eigentakt™ Class D power amplifier technology, a modern platform known for its exceptional performance characteristics. Developed by a Danish engineering team, this design addresses many of the limitations traditionally associated with digital amplifiers.

This “hard” power supply design ensures consistent performance even during demanding playback conditions.
Intelligent Safe Control
The amplifier also features Intelligent Safe Control (ISC), an advanced monitoring and protection system. Using multiple sensors and a micro-controller, the system continuously monitors temperature, load conditions, and clipping behavior, automatically adjusting operating parameters when necessary to maintain safe and reliable operation.

“I was impressed by two things from the Puritan. The decrease in the amount of noise allowed me to hear more information, enhancing all frequencies over the soundstage. The improvement in clarity and focus also helped the music to flow and eradicated harmful frequencies that sometimes demanded hands over the ears. More than that, though, while noise was reduced, the dynamics were never reduced. Hence, the music retained its life and vigour. I never thought that the ‘treated’ music ever sounded dull which is a great tribute to the design. The Puritan PSM156 is an ideal method to treat mains noise and distortive elements, letting you hear more music which is, after all, the point of hi-fi.”
