The T+A MP 2500 R Multi Source Player represents one of the most advanced digital playback solutions in the R-Series lineup. While it shares the core design philosophy of the MP 2000 R MK II, the MP 2500 R expands its capabilities with enhanced engineering and a high-end SACD drive derived from T+A’s flagship MP 3100 HV player.

For PCM audio playback, the player utilizes T+A’s renowned double-differential quadruple converter architecture, supported by advanced digital signal processing for exceptional clarity and precision. DSD signals are handled through T+A’s proprietary True 1-Bit DSD converter, originally developed for the PDP 3000 HV. This approach processes DSD in its native bitstream format rather than converting it, allowing the MP 2500 R to reproduce DSD formats up to DSD512 via USB with outstanding accuracy and detail.

The MP 2500 R also features a powerful high-resolution streaming platform, enabling access to network audio sources, Internet radio, and popular music services. With support for LAN, WLAN, USB Master Mode, and HD streaming from network servers, it integrates easily into modern home audio systems. A built-in digital tuner supports FM, FM-HD, and DAB+, while a high-quality Bluetooth module allows convenient wireless music playback from mobile devices.

Control is simple and flexible. The player can be operated using the SRC 1 infrared remote or the T+A MusicNavigator App, available for iOS and Android. The app provides comprehensive control of all compatible components and displays detailed information such as streaming data, station names, and radio text directly on your device.

SACD Drive

For listeners who value physical media, the MP 2500 R includes a newly developed SACD transport designed to deliver outstanding playback quality for both CD and SACD discs. The drive incorporates modern decoder technology for fast access times and precise error correction, ensuring accurate playback of PCM (CD) and DSD (SACD) formats.

Special attention has been given to the mechanical construction of the transport to minimize vibration and interference. The disc mechanism is mechanically isolated from the rest of the player, while a solid aluminum structure and heavy damping plate help prevent external vibrations from affecting playback. The precision disc drawer operates on machined stainless-steel guide rods, and the disc sits in a specially coated ABS cradle designed for smooth, stable operation.

Together, these elements make the T+A MP 2500 R a versatile high-performance source component capable of delivering exceptional sound from both digital files and physical media.
