Product Description
The Cadenza Black is the Virtuosic Peak of Ortofon’s Cadenza Line. Its detail, consistency and sound staging are immense. The Cadenza Black model utilizes a Nude Shibata stylus with a boron cantilever. The effective mass of the stylus/cantilever system is extremely low due to the use of a very thin boron rod. This material is extremely stiff and even more lightweight than aluminium. The gold plated 6NX copper Ortofon Aucurum wire minimizes distortion. It also uses the WRD/Wide Range Damping-system applied for MC Windfeld, MC A90, MC Anna, Xpression and MC A95 cartridges, controlling the high and low-frequency damping separately.
Ortofon’s Cadenza Series replaces the award-winning Kontrapunkt Series. This ambitious project utilizes brand-new technology such as an improved winding procedure for the armature, extruded aluminum for the bodies, and special magnets. These moving coil cartridges offer much better detail retrieval and greater dynamics. The cantilever/stylus configuration, as well as the wiring used determines the prices.
