Product Description

The T+A Solitaire T headphones are designed to bridge the gap between travel convenience and high-fidelity listening. Developed by T+A, this model brings the company’s renowned sound quality into a portable format, making it suitable for both daily commuting and focused music listening.

Built around an advanced transducer system, the Solitaire T is capable of delivering detailed, audiophile-grade sound in both active and passive listening modes. The headphone components are crafted from solid aluminum for durability and structural stability. Multiple connection options—including balanced analog, standard analog, USB-C digital input, and high-quality Bluetooth wireless—allow the headphones to pair easily with a wide variety of music sources.

Advanced Noise Cancellation & Wireless Performance

Versatility is a key feature of the Solitaire T. The headphone design incorporates passive acoustic isolation together with active noise suppression to help reduce environmental distractions.

A lightweight cellulose diaphragm combined with specialized damping materials provides effective passive isolation against midrange and treble noise. For lower frequencies that are harder to block passively, a precision-tuned active noise-cancellation system helps minimize bass-range disturbances.

Wireless performance is supported by Bluetooth 5.1 with support for high-quality codecs such as aptX HD and AAC codec, enabling convenient wireless listening while maintaining impressive audio fidelity.

Premium Design & Materials

Reflecting T+A’s long-standing design philosophy, the Solitaire T combines clean aesthetics with robust construction. Each structural component is precision-machined from solid aluminum, then pearl-blasted and anodized for a refined finish.

The headphones also feature precision metal couplings that allow the ear cups to rotate up to 90° and fold inward for easier storage and portability. Soft ear pads and headband cushions are covered in high-quality anti-allergenic synthetic leather to provide comfort during extended listening sessions or long journeys.

Intuitive Controls

Operation is designed to be straightforward and user-friendly. The headphones combine physical buttons, switches, and an interactive touchpad to manage playback and settings. Each command provides audible and tactile feedback, making it easy to confirm adjustments while listening.

Flexible Wired Connectivity

In addition to wireless operation, the Solitaire T offers a variety of wired connection options, allowing it to function as a closed-back audiophile headphone when paired with dedicated audio equipment.

Both digital and analog inputs are available, including a USB-C digital connection for high-resolution audio playback without compression. In passive mode, signal transfer is maintained through balanced Pentaconn, 3.5 mm, or 6.3 mm connectors. The headphone’s Active Analog mode also enables convenient volume control and background noise reduction when using analog sources.

Advanced Transducer & Audio Electronics

At the heart of the Solitaire T is a carefully engineered transducer designed for speed, precision, and dynamic range. Its lightweight yet rigid diaphragm helps maintain accuracy across the full frequency spectrum while the optimized low-bass system improves transient response for more natural sound reproduction.

For wireless listening, the headphones incorporate the Qualcomm QCC5127 Bluetooth audio processor, enabling stable connections, support for multiple high-quality codecs, and efficient power consumption.

The digital signal path also includes the ESS ES9218 Sabre DAC, a high-performance digital-to-analog converter designed to decode high-resolution audio formats with excellent clarity and detail, helping preserve the nuances of the original recording.

Major HiFi
“The T+A Solitaire has the best balance of any wireless ANC Bluetooth headphone at the time of writing this article. This is perhaps the first time I could truly forget that I was listening with a Bluetooth headphone. Why am I not giving this a Major HiFi Gold? The price and the sound stage. Why not a silver? The price. While this may be the most impressive wireless headphone I’ve reviewed, I have to admit that its hard to be okay with it going for twice as much as the Focal Bathys (which happens to beat out the Solitaire T in terms of sound stage). A price drop of a few hundred dollars would make the T+A Solitaire the best wireless headphone of the year. Honestly, I still think it is, and hope the future holds more wireless balances like the Solitaire T’s at more affordable prices.”

Audio46
“There’s no question that the Solitaire T is a talented headphone. The fantastic separation and transparency makes for a great soundstage and a very realistic listening experience overall. Furthermore, the light and buoyant character of the sound profile is a welcome change from other headphones in this echelon. And using the balanced connection, the Solitaire T seems worth the price tag. My only criticism lies with the volume when using the wireless feature. I fear it may not be loud enough for some listeners. But if you plan to also make use of the wire, this problem is solved.”

HiFi and Music Source
“As passive headphones, with the added balanced signal path, these are headphones deserving of a proper headphone amplifier solution if you have it anyway. The portable flexibility offered by these headphones is just another value point in my view. The USB-C digital solution in the right company is the icing on the cake in respect of clean digital signal paths and all around, these headphones are well worth a listen if this is near your budget and they are worth the stretch.”

Forbes
“This pair of headphones offers the best of both worlds. They function as a superb pair of passive headphones while offering excellent wired or wireless digital performance, with the option of switching on ANC to eliminate unwanted sounds. Highly Recommended.”

Jaguar is proud to offer EAR electronics, known for crafting some of the most musical and refined tube gear available. While many high-end tube amplifier brands exist, often priced far higher than EAR, we focus on amplifiers like EAR and Lamm — products from visionary designers that stand apart as truly unique and exceptional.

The EAR HP4 Headphone Amplifier is regarded as one of the finest in its class. Using four 6SL7 valves matched to a high-quality load through precision transformers, it delivers nearly 1 watt of clean, low-distortion power into both high and low-impedance headphones. The Enhanced Triode Mode circuit, inspired by the acclaimed V20 and 859 integrated amplifiers, ensures stunning audio performance, while the input stage is transformer-coupled for the flexibility to accept both balanced and unbalanced signals from your preamplifier.

Designed for ease of use, the HP4 features an integrated volume control, allowing for direct headphone or loudspeaker listening. Input signals can be independently switched, offering versatility in your audio setup. Built for durability, EAR’s HP4 is engineered to last with an expected valve life of over 10,000 hours.

With the ability to connect up to four pairs of headphones, the HP4 offers Low/High Impedance and Balanced/Single-Ended operation options, ensuring compatibility with virtually any headphone in your collection.

EAR (Esoteric Audio Research), founded by legendary designer Tim de Paravicini, has been synonymous with high-fidelity audio since the 1970s. Renowned for his innovative designs, de Paravicini’s techniques have not only shaped EAR products, but also influenced some of the world’s most respected audio manufacturers. Many of his creations are still highly coveted by audiophiles, with their enduring appeal and unmatched performance.

Beyond consumer audio, Tim de Paravicini has made groundbreaking contributions to professional recording and mastering. His tape systems, microphones, and recording technology have been trusted by iconic artists like Pink Floyd and Lenny Kravitz, as well as prestigious labels such as Altarus and Water Lily Acoustics. Engineers like Robert Ludwig, Joe Gastwirt, and James Guthrie have relied on his designs, and The Exchange, one of the world’s top mastering facilities, uses EAR-designed equipment throughout its entire playback chain. Even Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs uses his LP cutting system and tape playback electronics.

EAR amplifiers are renowned for their ability to reproduce sound with unrivaled purity, free from the colorations and distortions that affect most amplifiers. Tim de Paravicini’s pioneering research into ultrasonic resonances and distortion has revolutionized amplifier design, allowing for a deeper understanding of how technical measurements relate to sonic quality. The result is clear: EAR amplifiers are some of the most accurate and musically engaging amplifiers ever made, providing an unmatched listening experience.
