The Air Tight ATC-5s linestage preamplifier is their latest and most powerful creation in a compact enclosure. The ATC-5s, while compact, embodies more than 30 years of expertise and innovation. It retains the design principles of its predecessors while incorporating cutting-edge technologies and premium components.
Encased in a robust 1.6mm-thick monocoque chassis, it features globally sourced capacitors and components, along with meticulous hand wiring by their skilled technicians—eschewing cost-cutting printed circuit boards. The volume control is an Alps gold-plated, multi-contact, wire-brushed controller housed in a precision-machined brass case, ensuring superior sonic performance.
Designed and crafted in Japan, the ATC-5s offers flawless playback for analog discs with its advanced 2-stage NF-CR circuitry, which faithfully reproduces the RIAA curve while minimizing interference and unwanted vibrations. The preamp includes a convenient muting and a timer-relay system to protect the power amp section from transient currents. The line amp section, featuring a classic 2-stage configuration with the 12AT7, is optimized with decoupling circuits to maintain a tight and expansive soundstage.
