The EAR 834L Line Stage Preamplifier delivers a truly realistic, natural sound that consistently impresses listeners. When paired with the EAR 834P phono stage and EAR power amplifiers, the 834L becomes a versatile and high-performing hub for any system. Even modest tube upgrades can elevate its performance to rival preamplifiers costing $4,000 or more.

Designed by Tim de Paravicini with his signature robust approach, the 834L combines minimalist circuitry with three precision double-triode tubes arranged in a classic de Paravicini circuit. Special attention to the input stage ensures minimal sonic degradation, while all inputs are conveniently located at the rear on the same circuit board as the selector switches, which are operated remotely via long control shafts.

The 834L is engineered for long-lasting reliability, with expected tube life of up to five years of continuous operation.

Available in Classic and Deluxe specifications, the Deluxe version adds a premium chrome-and-gold chassis, two sets of outputs for bi-amping, and a neon power monitor light. The preamplifier offers up to five line inputs plus a tape monitoring circuit, for a total of six inputs.
