The T+A PA 2000 R Integrated Amplifier is widely recognized for combining compact design with impressive power and refined sound performance. Engineered for both precision and musicality, this amplifier delivers a dynamic, powerful presentation while maintaining exceptional clarity and control.
At the heart of the PA 2000 R are highly linear output stages designed with minimal negative feedback, paired with an advanced power supply engineered for exceptional stability. This design allows the amplifier to deliver over 200 watts per channel into 4-ohm speakers (100 watts into 8 ohms), providing the current and control needed to drive demanding loudspeakers with ease while preserving musical detail and dynamics.
Signal integrity is maintained throughout the design with the use of gas-tight gold-contact relays, which switch speakers, inputs, and internal signal paths with outstanding precision and long-term reliability. Separate tone controls are available for each channel, and both the tone controls and loudness function can be completely bypassed for a pure signal path. For vinyl enthusiasts, an optional audiophile-grade phono preamplifier module (MM or MC) can be installed, while a Surround Pass Through mode allows seamless integration into home theater systems.
Connectivity is equally impressive. The amplifier features professional-grade XLR and RCA connectors made from non-magnetic materials with hard gold-plated contacts. These connectors are firmly mounted to a solid aluminum rear panel for maximum durability and signal stability.
Internally, the PA 2000 R follows a true double-mono architecture, meaning the left and right channels are fully separated both electrically and mechanically. Each channel uses identical circuit boards to ensure perfectly matched performance and balanced sound reproduction. The circuit design is based on a cascoded differential amplifier using carefully selected audio J-FET transistors and fully discrete components rather than operational amplifiers, helping maintain exceptional linearity and an extremely wide dynamic range.
The result is an amplifier capable of processing signals up to 60 Vss without distortion, delivering powerful dynamics while preserving subtle musical detail. Precision resistor-based volume control combined with gold-contact relay switching ensures accurate channel matching, minimal noise, and extremely short signal paths.
To provide additional flexibility, the amplifier includes independent tone controls for each channel, which can be bypassed completely, along with an adjustable loudness circuit that can be tailored to match the efficiency of different loudspeakers.
With its meticulous engineering, high-grade components, and versatile functionality, the T+A PA 2000 R is designed to deliver outstanding performance for demanding high-fidelity audio systems.
Reviews
Soundstage HiFi
“Don’t let its unassuming appearance mislead you. T+A Elektroakustik’s PA 2000 R is a first-rate integrated amplifier whose modest power rating should be taken with a grain of salt. It proved to be an unflappable partner for challenging both two-way and big, efficient three-way speakers. It’s also as neutral as they come. Its most alluring talents, however, are its three-dimensional midrange and its butter-smooth treble extension. From top to bottom of the audio band, it is a complete integrated amplifier, whose sound quality is matched by its impressively solid aluminum build. For a reviewer prone to cast a skeptical eye on everything that comes through his listening room, I’m at a loss. This thing is faultless.”
Hifi Choice
“This is a fabulously entertaining system that never feels its message is more important than that of the music it is playing and it is sure to delight anyone in the fortunate position of being able to own it.”
